Who Are We?

Covenant Outreach Services, NFP is an organization that provides support to individuals and families who struggle with life challenges, obtaining funds for education (college/trade school) and financial literacy.

Our goal is to engage, encourage and empower the people of Chicago and surrounding areas. We will accomplish this by partnering with individuals and organizations who share in our mission to provide training, scholarships, and supportive services to those in need.

OUR VISION

To be recognized as one of the catalysts and resources for promoting life transition.

Community Service

We provide quarterly care bags consisting of food items, clothing, and personal hygiene items to families and individuals. We also provide support to community food pantries and shelters.

Educational Assistance

We offer two distinct opportunities for educational support which a student can apply for yearly. The Lula Mae Walker Scholarship and the Educational Hardship Assistance Program.

Financial Literacy Classes

We provide supportive services through referrals and online financial literacy information.  Check out our Facebook page Financial Freedom 4U2!

Meet Our Board

Our Board of Directors is united in their commitment to creating lasting change. We are a board that sets significant measurable goals and holds itself accountable for achieving them.

Michelle Williams

Media Chairperson

Michelle Williams, a proud Navy veteran, was born in Chicago, IL, and spent 13 years in Houston, TX. A driven and goal-oriented individual, she has always been passionate about helping her community. Her dedication to service began in childhood, inspired by her mother’s generosity in giving back to those less fortunate.

Barbara Hopkins

Treasurer/Community Outreach Chairperson

Barbara Hopkins has a long career in the service industry where she is committed to develop, enhance and enrich our under-served communities.   She has worked at Advocate Aurora for 26 years as a Finance Recovery Specialist and community organizer. She is the Founder of Sister2Sister, a non-for-profit organization helping young women. 

Andrea "Bonnie" Routen

Educational Chairperson

Bonnie Routen is a Real Estate Broker at Coldwell Banker Residential. She is recognized for being a multi-million dollar producer with thirty plus years of experience in servicing buyers and sellers in Chicago and the Western Suburbs.

Elizabeth Hope

Secretary | Organization Liaison

Elizabeth Hope has a history of service and leadership as a career, in ministry and in the community.  Her interest in serving began as a youth leader in the church.

Pamela Crenshaw

Board Advisor

Pamela Crenshaw is a native of Chicago, born and raised here. She grew up in the Robert Taylor Housing Projects, which helped her have a deep insight into the community's needs. She never forgets where she came from.  She has always been involved in community organizations, starting as a child.

Willia Anderson

Board Advisor

Willia Anderson graduated from Roosevelt University with a certification in Business Administration and also received a non-for-profit administration certification from the John Marshal Law School. She has an extensive background in Residential and Commercial Real Estate Management. 

Valerie S. Johnson-Williams

Founder/President

Williams is a Chicago native who has been married 32 years and is the proud mother of two children.   Williams graduated from DePaul University, with a BA in business administration. She also received training as a life coach from Shaw Academy and certification as a Dave Ramsey financial coach. In 2020 she received her ministry certification from LWCC School of Ministry.
